The Premera Rural Nursing Health Initiative (RNHI), led by the University of Washington School of Nursing and in partnership with collaborating Washington state universities with DNP programs, enhanced clinical placements for advanced registered nurse practitioner (ARNP) students and developed an innovative ARNP postgraduate fellowship program to ensure a robust pipeline and network of primary care ARNPs to improve health outcomes and access in rural Washington communities. With grant funds ending on 12/31/2025, this initiative will sunset. Thank you for your partnership and collaboration. The connections established through UW Premera RNHI, with clinicians, educators, fellows, health care organizations, specialists, and politicians across the state, remain strong and will ensure that rural health care will continue to be a concern for all Washingtonians despite the lack of current funding for this program.
